Our Easter eggs, Advent Calendars and Meaningful Tourism Bars are designed to challenge the non-Fairtrade market, while donating to charitable causes.
The Meaningful Chocolate Company's Fairtrade Story
At The Meaningful Chocolate Company, our philosophy is simple, we love good chocolate and we love helping people. All of our products are Fairtrade certified and since 2010 we have donated more than £140,000 from our sales to charitable projects.
We are proud to be part of the ethical trading community.
In 2010 we introduced The Real Easter Egg to the UK market and more than a million people have switched to this Fairtrade brand. Our eggs have won awards – votes the UKs favourite Fairtrade Easter egg and votes as Gift of the Year. In 2014 Fairtrade chocolate production had to move to the UK to meet demand.
In 2013 our Real Advent Calendar introduced Fairtrade and the Christmas story to a new generation. We also made sure the spirit of the season was kept by donating to The Children’s Society from sales.
In 2015 we launched a three year campaign to convert the tourism chocolate gift market to Fairtrade. We are doing this by offering fully customised Fairtrade bars to the shop managers of the UK’s tourist attractions. The Scottish Parliament and St Paul’s Cathedral led the way by being amongst the first to stock our Fairtrade gift bars.
