| It is estimated that the UK throws away 2 million tons of electrical waste every year, most of which ends up at landfill where it can have serious implications for our environment. ‘E-waste’ is one of the fastest growing waste categories in Europe – and yet the majority of equipment thrown away can be recycled or re-used.
Recycling your mobile phone instead of throwing it away will help combat this growing problem, and help support the Fairtrade Foundation at the same time. For every unwanted mobile phone you send in, we will receive a sum of money from our recycling partner ShP for Charity, which will go directly towards supporting the Fairtrade Foundation’s work. ShP for Charity is a leading environmental waste recycling organisation that helps reduce waste and raise money for charities based in the UK.
How do I recycle my mobile phone?
Take any unwanted mobile phones you have lying around your home and simply send them to us at the FREEPOST address below, with a piece of paper giving your name, address and contact details so we can send you a thank you letter:
The Fairtrade Foundation FREEPOST ShP Solutions 4-6 Dalton Square Lancaster LA1 1PP
Alternatively, visit our charity page here, where you can also opt to donate 100% of your phone’s value to our charity. Once you have placed your order through the site, send your phone to us freepost at the above address.
To our corporate supporters: if your company would like to donate office gadgets, ink and other unwanted equipment to the Fairtrade Foundation, simply call ShP for Charity on 01524 580910 or 07947 153 511 or email Simon Gregory to organise a FREE collection of your unwanted items.
