Fairtrade Fortnight Awards 2008

Every year the Fairtrade Foundation awards certificates to groups we feel have done an outstanding job of spreading the Fairtrade message during Fairtrade Fortnight. There are four categories plus an award for the best overall campaign. The awards are presented at our annual Campaign Days in the autumn.

No matter what you did, big or small, one event or many, we want to hear about it. Reading about your events inspires us and means we can share fresh, exciting and effective campaign ideas with other supporters.

4. Best Fairtrade Fortnight Campaign by a School

Since the Fairtrade Foundation started running the FairtradeSchools scheme in early 2007, more and more schools are promoting Fairtrade in the curriculum and through displays and events. One of the criteria for becoming a Fairtrade School involves organising an event during Fairtrade Fortnight, so this is an opportunity for you to tell us about what you did.

  • Did you put on any special events?
  • How did you communicate to the whole school about Fairtrade?
  • Did your school getinvolved with any community Fairtrade events?

There will be an award for the Best Primary School Campaign and Best Secondary School Campaign. You don’t have to be a Fairtrade School toenter – we want to hear about events in any school.

5. Outstanding Achievement Award

This will be awarded to the group the judges feel have excelled in all areas – an integrated, well-planned and creative campaign that reached lots of people, engaged the media, and communicated the Fairtrade message imaginatively.
