The Fairtrade Foundation wishes to extend its sympathy to all affected by the earthquake which hit central Chile on 27 February.

Details are emerging of how this has affected producers of Fairtrade honey, and particularly Fairtrade wine. Several producer groups, including those who sell their wine through Traidcraft, have suffered the loss of members and their families, as well as severe damage to their homes, farming areas and production facilities, including the loss of wine already harvested.
