Tribute to Anita Roddick
11 September 2007
Harriet Lamb, Director of the Fairtrade Foundation, met Anita Roddick
on several occasions over the years, when they engaged in long discussions
about Fairtrade. She always found Anita to be very inspirational
and helpful to the Fairtrade Foundation.
“Anita Roddick’s death is a very sad loss to the whole
Fairtrade movement. She was an iconic figure and a huge inspiration
to many people right across the world, showing that you can conduct
business with principles, as well as campaigning for wider changes.
She put the need for being fair to farmers in the public domain
in the days when it was a brave pioneering move. Her legacy will
be carried forward by the many people she influenced.”
