Smellbinding way to get your five a day

‘I’ve never seen anything like it!’ giggled one festival goer emerging from the huge stripy pyramid which appeared for a few days in the Herefordshire countryside, one of the lucky few to experience the incredible Ziggurat of Flavour.

The Fairtrade Foundation launched its Power Up Your Fruit Bowl campaign at The Big Chill Music Festival in Herefordshire in August by teaming up with food architects Bompas and Parr to create the Ziggurat of Flavour, where visitors stepped into a breathable cloud of Fairtrade fruit inside a three-storey installation. Watch the experience on film at www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kycmzefrvw

Power Up Your Fruit Bowl lets consumers know that Fairtrade fruit is not just about bananas, but that there are 18 other varieties available, including pineapples, grapes, mangos and plums. The campaign aims to help consumers understand the difference they can make to the lives of producers in developing countries by buying fruit carrying the FAIRTRADE Mark.
