Introducing Fairtrade in class
Download this set of photos with commentary that can be adapted for different age groups - it's a useful way of introducing Fairtrade to your school. (If, when you download this PowerPoint, you cannot view the notes, please right click on the link and select ‘Save target as’ to save a copy on your computer). Or browse our photo library, view short films and find producer case studies. Check out these organisations and websites for inspiration, or download learning resources about cotton, trade and Fairtrade.
Classroom resources
For a wide selection of materials to help deliver Fairtrade issues through the curriculum, go to www.globaldimension.org.uk and choose ‘Fairtrade’ from the drop-down menu. To help develop understanding of global trading, look out for the range of simulation games available on international trade generally or on individual products. These can also be found on the websites or in the catalogues of the organisations listed here.
Pictures, posters, stickers...
For Fairtrade Fortnight and other events, you can order materials direct from the Fairtrade Foundation.
Linking up to support Fairtrade
Are you interested in a global school link around the theme of Fairtrade? If so please look through the suggestions on the Global Gateway website. Let the Global Gateway team know if you'd like to apply for a funded partnership. You can do this on your own or - even better - as a group of about three schools. Just email partnerfinding@globalgateway.org explaining you are ready to think about a link on the theme of Fairtrade.

To find out where you can get products for your school, including school uniforms, sportswear and balls, and how to go about getting your canteen supplier to go Fairtrade, read the following factsheet: Sourcing Fairtrade products for your school (245.04KB).
