Leeds and Manchester are no longer just rivals on the football pitch

After beating Manchester 1-0 in the FA Cup earlier this year, Leeds is determined to beat them again – but this time with swaps not goals!

Fairtrade Leeds has thrown down the gauntlet to Manchester residents – swap as many of your everyday products for Fairtrade certified ones as you can!

On day five of the Fortnight, Leeds had 705 swaps, with Manchester on 781. The challenge is really heating up as Leeds Fairtrade group issued a target for Leeds residents – to get 1500 swaps by the end of Fairtrade Fortnight (7 March).

Chair of Fairtrade Leeds, Ian Adderly, says ‘whether it be swapping your normal cuppa for Fairtrade tea, switching your choice of chocolate, or swapping one of over 3,000 other products, register your swap on the Fairtrade Foundation’s Big Swap website.’

You can follow the challenge on twitter at: http://twitter.com/search?q=%40FairtradeLeeds
