Oxfordshire school put on a week of fantastic Fairtrade events
Students and staff at The Marlborough School are celebrating this years Fairtrade Fortnight in style.
Commencing with a ‘Big Banana Race’ and yellow themed mufti day and culminating in a Fairtrade and sustainable market in the nearby town of Woodstock (a joint venture between the school and local businesses, many of which have already swapped to Fairtrade) - the school are making sure the week of events is both fun filled and informative.
Other activities during the week include Fairtrade lunches, snacks and drinks in the school canteen everyday, a huge Fairtrade fruit wall display created by 60 art students, a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for sixth formers, and an after school tea party for the staff.
And by sending over 1000 letters home with students, The Marlborough School have also made sure that parents are aware of this years Big Swap campaign, and hope that they will be encouraged to get swapping too!
Big thanks and congratulations to The Marlborough School for putting on a great week of events - all in support of Fairtrade Fortnight 2010!
