Warrington aims to drink 1.001 cups of Fairtrade tea
On 20 February between 11-3pm, all sorts of fun and frolics will be taking place in Warrington Market, all in the name of Fairtrade. As well as children’s games, a Fairtrade tea hunt and all sorts of Fairtrade products available to buy, visitors will be able to swap their normal boxes of tea and packets of biscuits for Fairtrade certified ones, get behind this years Big Swap campaign.
But the Fairtrade fun doesn’t stop there. On Saturday 27 February you’re invited to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party, with a chance to grab a free Fairtrade cuppa and meet Alice and friends. The following weekend is the Strictly Fairtrade Tea Dance with a chance to learn dances from around the world, and of course, free Fairtrade refreshments will be available.
Jackie Hancock of the Warrington Fairtrade Steering group says ‘although Fairtrade products are much more widely available these days, buying them is still not yet the norm for everyone. So, for Fairtrade Fortnight 2010, let’s get swapping and build on the progress we have made so far.’
