Do it Fair this Fairtrade Fortnight
This Fairtrade Fortnight, whoever you are, there are many simple actions you can
take to make the trade system fairer – leading to a fairer world for all who rely on it.
This Fairtrade Fortnight will be taking place 22 September – 05 October 2025. Over these fourteen days we’ll be asking each of you to Do it Fair. We’ll be celebrating the difference we can all make when we choose Fairtrade and campaign as part of a UK-wide movement calling for a fairer system behind the things we consume every day.
With the world in a tailspin, fairness isn’t a given. But the power to get there is in our hands. Together, our actions can have a positive impact on real people’s lives. Fairer pay. Fairer treatment. Fairer futures. That’s Fairtrade. It’s not just a label – it’s a movement. So, whatever you do, and however you do it: Do it Fair.

Taking action for fairer tea
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight, we’re asking the UK government to Brew it Fair. Like all of us, the people growing and picking our tea deserve to be able to plan for their futures, and to protect themselves from the impacts of climate change. Take action by signing our petition and asking your MP to Brew it Fair.

Fairtrade Fortnight Tea Parties
This Fairtrade Fortnight 2025, we’re asking you to Brew it Fair by running your very own Tea Party.
We have 1000 event packs to give away once ordering goes live – allowing you to invite your local community as well as your local MP, bringing people together for Fairtrade Fortnight.
By asking you to host a Community Tea Party we are aiming to build support for our Brew it Fair Campaign and raise the voices of the people behind our tea

Looking for inspiration to make your Fairtrade Fortnight Tea Party or event fun, engaging and impactful? Here are some easy and creative ideas to make your tea party your own!
Tea supply chain game
Run this fun hands-on activity to help people at your event explore the journey of tea from the farm to cup! It’s a powerful way to spark conversation about the hidden steps behind our tea and highlight the challenges faced by the people behind it.
🍃 What you’ll need
- Leaf – growing the tea leaves
- Scissors – picking the tea leaves
- 2p coin – selling the tea leaves
- Candle – drying out the tea leaves
- Small bag (like a jewellery pouch or purse) – packaging the tea leaves for sale
- Toy vehicle (like a car, truck, train, plane or boat) – transporting the tea to the UK
- Box of tea – Selling the tea to shoppers
What you’ll do
- Ask the participant to guess in what order the steps take place to get tea from a tea plantation in India to you.
*The order above is the correct answer! - Explain that even though we only see the box at the end, for example we might pay £2 for it, the person growing the tea only gets as little as 1% of the cost of that – which would be 2p and that that’s unfair
Create a tea bush of support
Engage attendees in a meaningful and creative way by inviting them to create paper tea leaves that carry messages for trade justice. These leaves can form a visual tea bush display, symbolising solidarity with the people behind our tea and the need for a new law on human rights and environmental impact in the UK.
✂️ Activity Steps
- Distribute Tea Leaf Templates
Provide each participant with a blank paper tea leaf. - Decorate the Leaves
Encourage creativity—participants can use colours, patterns, and drawings to personalise their leaf. - Write a Message to the UK Government
On the reverse side, participants write a message advocating for fair treatment of tea farmers and support for Fairtrade.
🌿 Create a Tea Bush Display
Stick up or display the leaves on a wall or board to create a tea bush.
Invite participants to add their decorated leaves to the bush, forming a vibrant and powerful visual statement.
Run a guided tea reflection
Invite participants to slow down and reflect with a cup of Fairtrade tea by taking them through a guided reflection. This mindfulness activity encourages connection with ourselves, the planet, and the people behind every cup of tea. Through gratitude and awareness, you can explore how everyday choices support global communities and the environment.
Create a community tablecloth
Encourage attendees to decorate a shared tablecloth with drawings, messages, or pledges. It’s a great way to build community and showcase your collective support.
What you’ll need
- A paper of cheap fabric tablecloth
- Cups or mugs
- Tea (Fairtrade, of course!)
- Markers (or if you’re using a fabric tablecloth,
fabric pens or similar markers
What you’ll do
- Ask people to drink some tea, and draw a circle using their cup/mug as a template
- Ask them to draw or write a message inside the circle to support fairer trade
Share your community tablecloth with us on social media or at hello@fairtrade.org.uk
