A conversation with olive farmer Haj Rafeeq Hussein

Join Haj Rafeeq Hussein, a Fairtrade olive farmer from the ancient village of Ti’innik, perched high on a terraced hill in Palestine’s West Bank. He will talk about how climate change brings uncertainty to the seasonal rainfall patterns which are crucial for a good crop and how Fairtrade offers a safety net.

A Multi-Faith Action Forum on Climate Change

Climate Justice for a Fairer World panel discussion – organised by Swansea Fair Trade Forum and Swansea Environmental Forum, supported by Fair Trade Wales. We have brought together a wealth of expertise on climate, fair trade, education and community action to share their views and experience on this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight theme – climate justice. The event will include opportunities to ask questions and share ideas.

How will you reboot the future of food? Inspiring climate action in the classroom

Reboot the Future have teamed up with environmentalist Jonathon Porritt to create a new campaign filling young people with a sense of creativity, optimism and joy, and inspiring them to take action for a better future. Get a sneak peak of their new classroom resources and join them in conversation with Fairtrade Foundation’s CEO Mike Gidney to look at how our choices around food can help to reboot the future.

Nicaragua: Fairtrade, Hurricanes and Climate Justice
Host: Nicaragua Solidarity Campaign
In November, two hurricanes of unprecedented strength struck Nicaragua, a consequence of the climate crisis. Small-scale producers such as those from SOPPEXCCA, suffered the consequences of climate extremes for which they are least responsible.
Join our webinar to find out about the impact of the hurricanes on the livelihoods of the producers, how trade justice through Fairtrade helped to mitigate the impact, and why trade and climate justice are inseparable.
