Virtual tour of Hadeel craft workshop in Gaza
Let Hadeel take you to Palestine! In this, the first of a fortnightly series, you will be shown around the workshop of the Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children in Gaza. The talented crafters will tell their stories, answer your questions and demonstrate their skills LIVE for you. This event is sponsored by Edinburgh Fairtrade City.
Faces of Fairtrade with Photographer Sean Hawkey
Join acclaimed Brighton-based photographer Sean Hawkey as he talks us through some of the images in his latest book Faces of Fairtrade. Sean visited Fairtrade farmers all around the world, hearing their stories and taking photos to capture their lives.
Music Evening with Ghanaian musician Richard Wiafe
Richard Wiafe works for the Golden Exotics Fairtrade fruit project in Accra, Ghana and is also a talented musician. His university studies are funded through the Fairtrade Premium. He has written several songs celebrating Fairtrade including some which he has written exclusively for this festival. Join him for an evening of music and find out what Fairtrade means for Richard and his colleagues at Golden Exotics. This event is sponsored by Bradford Fairtrade Zone.
Clipper Climate Cast
Pop the kettle on Saturday morning and watch the Clipper Climate Cast on IGTV! The tea-rrific panel discuss the Clipper-Fairtrade partnership, how it’s supporting producers and workers, and the benefits of organic agriculture. The fantastic line-up includes: Host Tess Ward, Clipper Tea gurus Mr Pinto and James Ikin as well as award-winning Wildlife photographer & Filmmaker Aishwarya Sridhar.
Wake Up and Taste the Coffee
You are invited to Scotland’s big climate justice coffee morning this Fairtrade Fortnight. This is a coffee morning with a twist. With the climate crisis looming large and Fairtrade farmers continuing to tell us climate change is one of their biggest challenges right now, we urge you to join us to hear directly from those immediately affected by the crisis. Our guests will be from the Sholi Fairtrade Coffee Cooperative in Rwanda.
Bruce Crowther MBE talks about writing his book, ‘Not in My Lifetime’
Join legendary fair trade campaigner – the father of the International Fairtrade Towns movement – in conversation with Writer in Residence for Kirklees, Christina Longden. Bruce will talk about his journey through fair trade and his approach to writing the book. (This event is supported by Kirklees Libraries.)
COP26: Why this is the year for ambition and how youth are leading the way?
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2021, join The Climate Coalition to hear about the dynamics, both in the UK and abroad, that could finally unite the world around climate action. We will also hear from some youth organisers of Mock COP26, a virtual youth-led event organised last year to fill the void left by the postponed COP26 event.
Fairtrade in a time of COVID-19
Join us for a live linkup to find out how Fairtrade producers in East and West Africa are coping with COVID-19 and creating change for women. As part of York International Women’s Week Festival, York Fair Trade Forum and Shared Interest bring you a unique opportunity to hear directly from people working with Fairtrade farmers and workers in Kenya and Ghana.

Join us as we come together in celebration of those striving to protect our common home – God’s creation – and pray for justice for farming communities on the front line of the climate crisis across the globe. This service has been created by Fairtrade supporters and churches from different denominations.
